Yours in education,
With both a Master's degree and Bachelor's degree in the realm of Special Education/Exceptional Student Education I have been trained in multiple methods to help assist students struggling with ADD/ADHD. It was because of my extensive knowledge in this area that I was hired as a teacher at school specializing in helping students with ADD/ADHD, Asperger's and high functioning Autism. I currently continue to teach middle school utilizing my skills and have been specializing in this particular area for over 4 years.
Currently and for the past 3 years, I have worked as a middle school teacher at a school specifically for helping children with Asperger's and severe ADHD. My undergraduate studies were in Elementary and Special Education while my Master's degree is in Special Education. This is my main area of expertise.
With an undergraduate degree and master's degree focused on special education, along with certifications to work with students with autism in both NY and FL I am considered to be "Highly Qualified" by the Florida school system to teach students with autism. I spent a year working with students with severe autism and emotional behavioral disorder (EBD) in the public school sector in 2009.
I have been the director of the school's "Strategic Games Club" for 3 years wherein student's play from a selection of highly thought intensive games such as Chess, Magic: The Gathering, and Risk. Prior to working as SGC director in my current school I was the chess club leader for two years in a different school. In both instances I worked with students in the elementary and middle school grade levels.
I am a current, certified teacher. I hold certificates in Florida and NY for elementary, middle school and for educating students with special needs. I have my undergraduate degree in Education/Special Education and my master's is in Special Education.
I have played sax for over 15 years. I have played in the University band and Jazz band. Currently I own a Soprano, Tenor, and Alto but enjoy the Alto the most for its rich sound. I am also in a band which plays modern music infused with sax.

The current school I work at is for students with Asperger's and ADHD. A large part of our program is to help students organize their notes, desk, home academic area, etc. so that they can successfully work with little distraction. We teach students how to study in our allotted "Skills" period during the day. I also worked for a few years at an FCAT school which, while standardized testing has its limitations, qualifies me for helping students prepare for large tests as the school focused largely on preparing for the end of year test.
Unbelievably dedicated, really works with his students — From the beginning, Jacob was a great fit for our son. He showed up on time, presented himself well, hit it off well with my son, and had a positive outlook. He looked at my son and told him that he could see how smart he was and that he felt that he had a wonderful shot at improvement on the SAT. Over the last couple of months, my son has had a huge amount of confidence built up from Jacob's t ...
