Greetings to you, and thank you in advance for your consideration. My Name is Alan and I realize that the education of your student is very important as it has been to me with my own children as well as the students that I have taught in the classroom and in their homes as a tutor. I feel that as a certified educator, it is my responsibility to stimulate and support the intellect of the student, and to take into account that each student is distinctive who learns at different levels, different paces and by different pathways.

I enjoy finding the appropriate methods in order for my students to comprehend concepts, whether they are novel ideas or the review of past lessons. Because of my experience in a general education and inclusion classroom setting, it has given me the opportunity to instill in my students alternate and traditional methods to grasp and succeed at tasks which at first seem impossible, but then become tangible. I like to use a pro-active and hands-on type of learning. I have always felt that doing is a far better learning method than watching.

I have a genuine caring and nurturing feeling towards all of my students. I have home schooled students who have had difficulty in a school setting as well as private tutoring. I would love an opportunity to discuss my experiences with you further.

My credentials as a teacher are as follows: Associates degree in Liberal Arts, Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's in Exceptional Students. I have been teaching in the classroom since 2005, first in a Charter school for 6th and 7th grade, then an Elementary school for 5th and 6th grade. I taught a self-contained classroom with severely disabled students and then co-taught a 3rd grade classroom. Presently, I teach 5th grade reading, math, writing and social studies for a school in Delray Beach.

I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
