I am a mother of two, so I know the importance of being available to children and adults as they go through the struggles of keeping up, or devoting time to improve their existing skills.
I listen to the heart. I understand that when grades are low its not because one is stupid but maybe a topic needs to be explained in a way that relates to the students' personal style of learning.
I have 2 years Elementary Education college credits, am currently a Senior, Human Services Major. As an Elementary Education student, I had the privilege of working with both regular children and spent one semester with special needs children.
My work experience has been in retail, my volunteer experience includes elementary tutoring and adult literacy programs.
Its my pleasure to serve you in this capacity.
My approach to achieving your goals:
I use a one-on-one plan. This is always effective in developing a trusting relationship between the tutor and the tutored. I work closely with the family and current classroom curriculum.
I have also found that using a bonus or reward system is quite effective. These systems that are not to replace the true purpose for being tutored, but to enhance personal growth while academic growth takes place.
