I wasn't crazy about the idea of hiring a tutor for help with my (college) Algebra courses. However, after failing my last exam with a 46% and now needing to take the class class all over again, I knew I couldn't do it by myself anymore and needed help. I was pretty nervous before our initial lesson - I had always barely skidded by when it came to math and was certain I'd be embarrassed having to admit how little I actually knew to someone I'd never met. But from the first moment I met with Anastasia I realized all my fears were for nothing. She made me feel comfortable right away - it didn't matter to her that I had no idea at that moment how to add or subtract negatives/positives or how to divide/multiply fractions, it only mattered to her that I knew how to do those things once we were done. She broke everything down in simple terms so that I could understand, explaining what to do without all the complicated arithmetic-speak. She went over everything as many times as it took for me to get it - sometimes that was a lot - and never once got frustrated or annoyed; she just kept trying different approaches until it made sense to me. I've always loathed the subject, but she actually made it -never thought I'd say this about math- FUN and I finally grasped all the concepts that had eluded me so long. After the semester working with Anastasia I went in to take the final exam again, but this time I wasn't terrified - I was confident. And I was thrilled when I saw my grade of 90%! I had raised my score by 44 points! I hadn't gotten an A in Math since 3rd grade. I've tutored with Anastasia again since with great results and will definitely use her in the future when I start my Biology degree. Trust me, you won't get what you pay for - you'll get way MORE. Heck, I even joke with my husband that I want to hire her on later and will be the only wildlife biologist who takes their own personal tutor with them out in the field. But I so would - She's awesome!
