Hi! I'm Anna! I have a bachelor's of arts degree in biology with minors in mathematics and psychology. I also have a master's of science degree in medical sciences. My experience in tutoring began with my family and friends (both at the undergraduate and graduate level). I have been able to guide them through biological and mathematical concepts by making sure they have a solid foundation and understanding of the basics of both subjects before helping them understand their problem areas. Throughout my education and through my experiences in tutoring my family and friends, I have come to realize how important it is to identify which method of learning one learns best in (visual, auditory, etc).

Throughout the endless hours of studying I've endured through obtaining both of my degrees, I have gained an understanding of myself in that when I relate what I'm studying at the time to something I'm interested in, I retain that information better and longer. I like to use this method as well as the learning style of a student to help them develop those concepts and retain them for longer periods of time.

I enjoy helping others gain knowledge as well as helping others in general. Although I don't have many hours behind me as a tutor (compared to others in my area), I hope you give me a chance to help you or your son/daughter understand their problem areas and not only gain knowledge but also start to enjoy the subject(s) they struggle with.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

MCAT

As a biology major as an undergraduate, I completed the necessary courseload in the sciences to prepare for the MCAT. In addition to these courses, I have taken a prep course that has reinforced my knowledge and content areas for this exam. I have also taken the MCAT and have been successful in obtaining a desired score for medical school admissions.

Pharmacology

The master's degree program I completed was an intense program in which 2 years of medical school material are packed into 1 year. In this program, I was required to take pharmacology in which I learned about many different types of medications, the way they work in our body, the possible side effects of using the medication, the drug interactions that can occur with the use of the medication, as well as diseases that the medications treat. My exams for this course included clinical vignettes in which a scenario is given about a patient and I am to "prescribe" the patient the correct medication based on the scenario. I believe my education through this pharmacology course enables me to help others figure out a way to understand the material they're being presented and use that understanding to not only succeed in their course but take their understanding and utilize it in a clinical scenario, if needed.

TEAS

I prepared to take the TEAS exam for entrance into nursing school by utilizing various textbooks. I consistently passed on practice tests in each section with at least a 90% or better. After consistently passing the practice tests, I sat for the exam and obtained scores similar to my practice tests.

1) Eliminate X or Y by figuring out what you need to multiply one of the equations with to eliminate one of those variables when you add the equations together. So for example, to get rid of the Y variable, multiply the bottom equation by 2:  2(9x-4y=21) ---> 18x - 8y = 42 2)...

The midpoint formula is: [(x1 + x2)/2 , (y1 + y2)/2)] A data point is always given in the form of (x, y). In your question, 12, 12 would be the data point at x = 12 and y = 12 as well as x = 2 and y = 12. These are 2 different points on a graph. To solve your equation by using...
