I received a B.A. in History from Loyola University in New Orleans. I taught in both college and secondary schools, and then attended law school at Tulane University. My teaching experience includes teaching college classes at Xavier University of New Orleans and at the University of New Orleans. I then taught history for eight years, including seven years at Isidore Newman school. Newman is one of the best schools in the country and annually places highly in the number of National Merit Scholars it produces. Altogether, I taught for ten years, and practiced law for about twenty years.
My wife and I moved to Florida after Hurricane Katrina destroyed our home in New Orleans. I no longer practice law, but have always enjoyed teaching and would like to help anyone in need of a tutor. I am proficient in a number of subjects. These include History, Civics, English, Public Speaking, Creative Writing, and Law. I also specialize in tutoring students for tests like the ACT, SAT, GRE, and LSAT. I teach not only the subject-matter for standardized tests, but also test-taking techniques to help students maximize their scores. During my career, I've also coached golf and football.
I believe in identifying a student's strengths as well as weaknesses, and use the former to improve the latter. I try to keep the subject being taught both lively and entertaining, and to make learning a positive experience. Most of all, I care about my students and will always do my best to help them succeed.
