Hello, my name is Ken and I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. My area of expertise is Reading and English. I have worked with many children with different backgrounds in their homes. It has always been my strong point as a home tutor to develop a relationship with my students to get them to relax. When a student is stressed from the school learning process they shutdown. Listening to a student is critical so I can build a trust between the student and myself. In the past I have asked for parents to speak to their child's teacher(s) to get me contact information so their teacher(s) and I can be working on the same page to achieve very positive success for the student. I have children and grandchildren of my own and know what it is like for parents to have busy schedules. I am retired and have the flexibility and time to help YOUR child or children. I have patience and a strong desire to work again with children to enhance their Reading skills and the English language.

I prepared lesson plans for my students. Several of the subjects I taught were reading, writing, basic math, spelling and social studies. It is my main focus to improve your educational subject skills. A student tutor relationship is very important to me.

The Perfect Fit — From the first few minutes we spent with Ken, I knew we would be lucky to have him for our tutor. My grandson has ADD and Ken got right on a lesson plan and knew exactly how to deal with him. I am a very protective grandma and felt an instant calm about Ken. Ken spent an extra hour with my grandson getting a feel for him, then spent even more time with me explaining his thoughts and his lesson p ...
