Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

My experience as a N.Y.C. Subsitute Teacher, putting together lessons designed for a students' success. My theory is that a student will not be sucessful if they are not familar with the basics. Quite a few educators tend to rush the information with little effort in addressing the students concerns with the inability of retaining the infrmation presented. An educator should be creative in their teaching technique. I have been successful in completing a Math Cluster Program specifically designed for 6th graders who had an issue with basic fractions.I was prepared to work with these students in raising their test scores academically.Upon completion of the program that I have designed for them, they were confident to proceed with the next math level.
I am confident that my academic technique will prove to be a success for those that are seeking this type of assistance whether it be in Reading, Math, Social Studies.
Thank you and have a great day!!

General Computer

Hi. a lot of students are interested in learning how to copy, paste documents without having to first close the web.page that they are on. I am self taught in this area by experimenting on the PC. For example, when applying for an employment opportunity, you would of course complete all the pertinent information. You would then minimize the web. page, say for example, Career Builder. then you would locate your (e.g.resume, click select all, open the internet web. page that you initially closed, press "v" on your keypads, and instantly your resume appears. This is just one of the examples that I would be happy to teach you, as well as touch typing on your PC.
Thank you & have a great day!

So, I went to the student lounge munching on a bag of Doritos chips while waiting for the turoring session to begin. Across the room sat a woman and a small child. She couldn't help but noticing me contently eating my chips. "Boy does that look good, but I know that I can't... read more
