With more than 20 years of experience teaching ESOL, Spanish, Reading, and Special Education, I am a passionate educator with a commitment to academic excellence. I enjoy working with students of diverse ages, backgrounds, and abilities to help them reach their full potential. I adapt my teaching to my students' individual learning styles and use a dynamic, engaging, fun method to deliver the content. I obtained my B.A. (Magna Cum Laude) from Florida Atlantic University and I hold a Master's degree in TESOL / Bilingual Education. I have taught ESOL and Spanish for several prestigious language schools both in Venezuela and the United States, and have also worked as a Reading, Language Arts, and Special Education teacher for Broward County Public Schools. I have worked as Adjunct Faculty in College of Education at Florida Atlantic University and previously at Broward College. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian, with a basic command of Swedish and French. I hold FLDOE certifications in ESOL, Reading, ESE, and Middle Grades Integrated Curriculum. I am also committed to making a difference in the community and have volunteered for several non-profit organizations in Broward County. In 2002, I was distinguished as Clinical Outreach Volunteer of the Year by Women in Distress.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have a Florida Department of Education teaching certificate in Middles Grades Integrated Curriculum (all subjects), I am also certified to teach Reading, ESOL, and Special Education to students in grades K-12, and have a master's degree in Bilingual Education (ESOL and Spanish). As an experienced teacher and private tutor, I can design and implement a customized program to meet each student's needs and help her or him succeed in school. I enjoy working with students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, and my method focuses on developing motivation, organization, and study skills.

I am a Florida Department of Education certified ESOL teacher. I have more than 20 years of experience teaching languages and hold a Master's degree in TESOL & Bilingual Education. In addition to tutoring private students, I teach ESOL endorsement courses at Florida Atlantic University.

Special Needs

I hold a valid Teacher Certificate (Exceptional Student Education/Special Education) from the FL Department of Education.

I have worked with Special Needs students (Autism, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, Behavior, etc.) for over four years and have over 20 graduate credits in Exceptional Student Education from Florida Atlantic University.

Study Skills

I am a FLDOE certified Special Education teacher for students in grades K-12. I have received ample training in how to teach Study Skills and have experienced coaching students of all ages to become more organized, learn effective study strategies, and improve test taking skills.
