I have been teaching English, Language Arts, and Italian for ten years in South Florida. I am a National Board Certified teacher with experience teaching a wide range of students. This means that I adapt easily to different learning styles and personality types. With the strong belief that a positive, professional teacher-student relationship will help students to take an active part in their own learning, I encourage interactive discussion and questioning as the best route for students to develop and express their own ideas verbally and in writing. Students who are inspired to learn achieve more at a faster rate, so I aim to help students uncover their own inspiration, while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.

Reading

Reading is one of the skills that is absolutely essential for success in today's world, both in higher education and in the work place. Quite a different story is that of motivation; many people don't want to read because they find it too difficult or boring. A good reading teacher will open up the intriguing world of words, not only demonstrating excellent reading strategies but also showing students how to unlock a world of interesting information and thought-provoking ideas.

English

English is a versatile language, and expertise in reading, writing, and speaking it is invaluable in both higher education and in the workplace. English grammar and spelling can sometimes be challenging, as can idioms, but learning the language well pays off.

GED

For those who do not want to, or who are unable for some reason, complete regular high school coursework, the GED is essential, both for higher education and for employment purposes. As someone who usually received high testing scores, I like to help others do the same.

SAT Writing

Writing for SAT requires a skill set that can be acquired through knowing what the test makers are looking for. I can help you with that, because through long practice, test-taking is not difficult for me. I like helping others feel more confident about their writing.
