I was born, raised, and educated in Japan. I have been living in the Orlando area for more than 20 years, and my teaching experience is solely in the state of Florida.
The following is my brief but precise qualifications:
* I possess the Florida Teacher Certification in Japanese K-12.
* I have been teaching Japanese language and other related subjects since 1992. The schools include Valencia College, ERAU, Language Schools, UCF, and others.
* My ACTFL score is the highest grade of "Superior" for both OPI and WPT.
* I have the Level II Security Clearance for OCPS as a SES tutor.
* I am an instructor of Japanese for the U.S. Department of Defense.
* I am currently in the Teacher Pool at the Memphis City Schools.
* I was a Japanese Translator for OCPS Language Volunteer.
* I was a designated court interpreter for the Orange County Court House.
I teach Japanese language courses from beginner through advance/professional levels. You will learn reading, writing, and conversational Japanese, as well as Japanese manners, customs, cultural aspects, and business practices. I have to expect you to know the fundamental English grammar beforehand.
My specialty is personal lessons because I am able to modify, arrange, adjust, and suit the particular student's ability, objects, and needs. The goal of my teaching is to let the student master Japanese language comfortably as well as intelligently, and utilize the language for any purposes he or she desires.
As a ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) tutor, I help students from other countries to learn English the “right way”. You will be able to get a better education, a better job, and your life will feel brighter if you master English intelligently. Please do not settle for being a broken English speaker.
Having learned the basics and equipped with correct grammar, you will sense more confidence and a positive stance. I do understand your current position that you wish to master good English because I was in the same situation 30 years ago. I have been there, and I know exactly what you need, require, and wish to attain.
