Orlando Area Software Developer (15+ yrs)

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. I've been tutoring people of all ages in many subjects since I had these same courses in High School & College.

I especially enjoy helping others with Math. So many people have had bad experiences with Math ... and it is an amazing feeling when they go from hating math, to actually enjoying taking challenging math courses.

I've had students that hated math when I met them, and after we worked together ... things finally made sense. There's even one that I know that majored in Mathematics!

I always offer the 1st hour free and the student is welcome to end the session at that point. Not every person is a match with every tutor. If you are a non-confrontational person like me, who doesn't want to say 'hey this isn't working for me' right to someone's face -- then just pull out the polite lie like grabbing your phone from your pocket and take a fake call, 'oh so sorry I have a family emergency I need to take care of' and end the session. I do not want to waste either of our time if things aren't working.

I can certainly relate to the want to 'keep it simple'-- and if I could find a way to make stats simple I'd be a genius. Sorry, no matter how much we would like it to be ... it is not simple.

I have a bachelor's degree from Lycoming College in Computer Science, and have worked for 15+ years in Microsoft software development for various companies, including SMS (Shared Medical Systems), Siemens, Parts.com, etc.

I have Microsoft certification in Visual Basic 5 and 6. Also I have taken a few graduate courses, but haven't the $$ to pursue a master's degree.

Most of my undergraduate work was done using ANSI C code on a VAX/VMS mainframe system prior to the introduction of home PCs. I have used many many languages and many different compilers and IDEs for those languages.
