I currently work in the Marion County school system and have years of experience working with struggling readers, as well as students who are math-challenged. My experience involves personal requests from parents to aide their child, through professional tutoring services, and after-school tutoring as administered by local Marion County schools. My focus is making sure every student shows growth in their required study, but also shows comfort in performing the skill assessed on their own.
My education background is in Elementary Education through the University of Phoenix. I have worked with ESE, as well as emotional behavior disorder children, in helping students overcome obstacles they encounter in the learning process. My focus is helping students understand the framework of math and reading, not just learning strategies in passing a multiple-choice test.The key is making learning fun, otherwise children lose interest and their attention is focused elsewhere.
