I am a highly experienced, professional educator. I have extensive classroom and individual teaching/tutoring experience in the fields of general chemistry and organic chemistry. In my over 20 years of teaching, I have worked with a wide range of students, middle school through college and beyond. I take pride in my ability to gauge and challenge students within their means. I work with the student to develop essential problem solving skills that will help them understand the subject beyond the simple application of facts. Students learn science through solving problems, and thinking like a scientist. Anyone can follow a recipe. Through my tutoring techniques I help the student move past simple memorization of the material or plugging numbers into the equation. Together we will develop skills that will not only help them in chemistry or biology, but in every challenge they encounter.
