I first tutored students in English grammar and foreign language some years ago, having studied the following: Dutch, Spanish, French, German, Russian, English, Latin, Greek, Ewe and Hausa--two languages I dealt with while in the Peace Corps in West Africa. That experience gave me insight into the intricacies of linguistics and language learning. I enjoyed working one on one with students, as I did with my own two boys before they headed off to college. Learning, studying hard, reading often are things are tried to instill in those with whom I worked.
Besides teaching and coaching in Ghana, I had also gained experience in New Jersey, Michigan, and Florida. I have traveled in Europe and West Africa, which has given me more of a love for geography and other cultures. In the coaching realm I have conducted track and field clinics, mainly focusing on shot put, discus, javelin, and the decathlon. I also have a great deal of insight in sports, because I had competed and coached for several years.
I also enjoy working with children helping them with their math, study skills, ACT preparation, GED diplomas, and overall organization on how to study and prepare to become good students of education.
Recently, I tutored a man from Slovakia, who wanted to improve his English; and I also tutored five Spanish women, who wanted to better their English language skills.
