I am a retired international flight attendant with knowledge and experience of many different parts of the world. I speak functional Italian and French and have lived overseas for months at a time. I spent most of my career traveling to Europe and the Middle East and have friends from many countries in this part of the world.
I started teaching English after retirement and love the opportunity to bring new people into the global language, English. My method is to find what interests the student, be it business, cooking, decorating, etc. and having them learn how to talk about these subjects. I scan the media daily looking for articles for them to read, learn vocabulary, syntax, pronunciation, and discuss these subjects.
For beginners, I use a lot of role playing; making appointments on the phone, reading shopping ads from the newspaper, small talk on meeting strangers, etc. This system is usually a lot of fun for both the student and teacher.

I have to say that my English class with Sharon was very very good. She is an excellent English teacher and I recommend her to everybody! Thanks Sharon.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
A BA Degree in Creative Writing gives me a strong understanding of the grammar, punctuation, vocabulary and syntax of the English language. A TESL Certificate and two years of teaching class and private lessons in the Beginning Level to Advanced Business English has given me the tools and desire to help all students.
