Dear students and parents,
I am finishing up my doctorate degree (Ph.D) in chemistry
at the University of Miami. I am a tutor at the "Chemistry Resource center" and I am also a member of "Teaching Assistant Evaluation Committee" at the Chemistry Dept. at UM. Over the last 5 years of my teaching career, I had opportunities to teach hundreds of students. I have done an excellent job and I have won numerous awards such as "Graduate Teaching Award", "Perpetually Outstanding Teaching Award" (Twice), and "Lifetime TA Excellence in Education Award". I have been evaluated as "Truly Exceptional Teacher" for 7 times.
I got my master's degree in chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, India, which is one of the finest institutes in the world. I didn't stop there. I worked in a chemical company for a year and I realized that I love to teach. So I changed my profession and decided get my doctorate degree in chemistry at the University of Miami.
It is very important for us to choose a career path which we absolutely love. I have always been fascinated by education and what it brings to the society. It was an easy decision for me to become a teacher.
In the process of educating myself, I had opportunities to learn from many good teachers and I have observed them closely and it was fascinating how they teach the subject in play mode. As a teacher I follow their path and try to understand the individual students need and teach them in a specific ways. Every student is different from each other. So I put emphasis on evaluating them and helping them in the most efficient way.
These days it is very rare to find a teacher who doesn't just give notes, but spends time by going through books thoroughly and gives the student a firm base of understanding of chemistry. To me it is very important that the student succeed not only just in pen and paper, but also they learn the subject. My teaching philosophy
is simple. Faith and hard work can overcome all and that's what I do on an everyday basis.
I think I have said enough. If you are interested, please contact me. I will do my best to help you out.
