Hunter College (Japanese Studies)
Hi! My name is Keili, and I'm a tutor/teacher of Japanese language for adults of all ages and children above the age of 5.
Whether you're currently studying Japanese and need some guidance or help with your assignments, or you're completely new to the language and want to start learning, I would love to help!
Japanese language and culture has been my biggest life passion since I was very young. I've been studying the language itself for about 10 years now, and am currently enrolled in CUNY Hunter for Japanese Studies. I started my studies on my own when I was 11, buying textbooks and study aids at bookstores for myself and studying every single day, attempting to teach myself the new, complex language. Finally when I was 13 I hired a tutor to help me reach further fluency and understanding, until I was able to take Japanese in high school. I finally received the opportunity to travel to Japan, through my high school and NECTJ, in 2009 for a 10-day trip. I traveled to Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Kyoto, gained a lot of experience and knowledge concerning Japan's culture, and improved my survival and conversational language skills immensely. By my third year of high school, being that I jumped ahead a few language levels upon entry, I was auditing Japanese classes at Hunter college and received an unofficial A+ based on my work and grades. While taking those college classes during high school, I was also tutoring students at Fordham University in NYC.
To this day, I am every day studying and working towards improving my Japanese fluency. It's my life passion, and I would love to share my knowledge and experiences with you! Hi! My name is Keili, and I'm a tutor/teacher of Japanese language for adults of all ages and children above the age of 5.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
