I have always loved being a student, my love of learning lead to a love of teaching. I started tutoring math in high school. Then, while completing my undergraduate studies I was a nanny for two elementary age children for a school year. After that, I became a substitute teacher for the last two years of college. I completed my coursework in journalism.
Since I completed undergrad, I have continued to be active as a substitute teacher. I have had the opportunity to teach every grade and every subject, from pre-k to high school seniors, and from arithmetic to writing. Collectively, I have about 10 years' experience as a substitute teacher. I am currently certified as a substitute teacher with Broward County Schools. I am also studying to become certified in the State of Florida as an elementary reading specialist.
I enjoy breaking down a subject to get my students to understand each concept. I am excited by the 'I get it' moments that occur when a student understands a topic so well they can explain it back to their teacher. I believe in the practice makes perfect strategy. I am committed to helping those who are eager to learn and progress further in their studies.
