I'm a passionate problem solver that focuses on the "how and why", not just the result. For me, true comprehension in a subject is being able to explain it to someone else, and I look forward to sharing that learning experience with you.

I graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Minor in Engineering and Management. In college, I tutored several of my friends in Math and Science (my favorite subject is Biology!). I also participated in sessions where I helped students from around the campus with their homework. In my fraternity, I served as the VP of Professional Programming and had the specific duty of coaching the Chapter on Public Speaking, Presentation skills, Resume development, and Career preparation.

I take my job seriously. I assign and grade homework as well as recommend online study materials and practice exams. I assess your personal goals and provide timelines to reach them. My favorite part of tutoring is breaking a problem down to its basic pieces. Whether its Public Speaking or Pre-algebra, all problems can be broken down and solved, one piece at a time.

Note: My hourly rate is $45 for travel of 10 or more miles, with a minimum of a two hour session.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Career Development

I have taught seminars on resume development, presentation skills, and professional interview success. Theses classes covered everything from how to give and receive business cards to hand shake technique and elevator pitches. I also taught cold call techniques to prepare students for being able to answer any career related question without preparation.

Microsoft Outlook

I worked as an IT Analyst at Johnson and Johnson for two years providing tech support and project management services. I worked with the entire Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Prior to that I worked as an IT specialist at All Saints Episcopal Church for three years. I managed over 50 workstations, peripherals, and printers as well as their wired and wireless networks. I have experience in tech support, virus removal, knowledge management, networking, and computer hardware repair.

Microsoft Windows

I have worked with Microsoft Windows at an Administrator level for over 8 years. I understand troubleshooting, OS install and removal, drive partitioning, multiple OS boot, Windows Services, Command Prompt, and Networking. I worked at a Church for 3 years maintaining Windows PCs, handling client issues, and upgrading the OS for each workstation. I also have experience in software maintenance and virus removal.

Networking (Computer)

I have installed and configured wired and wireless networks for several clients, including software and hardware firewalls (like SonicWall), VPNs, and proxies. I have worked with routers, access points, range extenders, and switches. I understand best practices in networking.

Public Speaking

In high school, I took debate classes and was a member of the debate team. I won several first place and best speaker awards for Student Congress during my two years in the team. I also won awards in Future Business Leaders of America presentation competitions. In college, I was the VP of Professional Programming in my Fraternity and was personally responsible for public speaking coaching, career development, and business skill improvement of my Chapter. I participated in and won several awards for my presentation skills and project planning.
