I am a retired professor of finance who enjoys tutoring grades three through college in mathematics and physics. I particularly enjoy figuring out how to present topics in ways that meet the needs of particular students. I like to see the “light bulb go off." I have tutored or been a teacher for over ten years.

I started off in college as a physics major, with a minor in math, but switched to investment management after one year of graduate school. I worked for many years in the investment management business, mostly figuring out how to apply mathematics and computers to investing, but also teaching investment professionals about quantitative investment concepts. Later, I taught undergraduate and graduate finance at Fordham University and other schools.

I have been an associate editor of several professional journals, including the financial analysts journal and the Journal of Investment Management. I have a Ph.D. in finance and economics from NYU. I have published over 50 papers in professional and academic journals.
