As a PhD Candidate (Biology) at the University of Miami, my focus over the past four years has been to understand the intricate processes behind successful biological invasions in Biscayne Bay by using the Indo-Pacific lionfish (P. volitans) as a model organism.

With a vast tutoring repertoire spanning over a decade, my goal is to apply the same principles and diligence as shown through my research to helping students achieve success at every level. I have mastered highly specialized tutoring techniques that, in my experience, have helped learners of all abilities to understand and master subject material ranging from the basic to more complex analysis.

My specialties range in science, history, writing, and standardized test prep (IB/AP and SAT/MCAT/GRE). Please feel free to contact me and determine how we can enhance your learning experience to bring those grades and scores to another level!

Genetics

In addition to having tutored this subject for 4 years now, I have taken both undergraduate and graduate courses on genetics. Part of the focus of my PhD dissertation is understanding the links between gene flow across populations. These qualifications undoubtedly make me a candidate to continue tutoring in genetics.

MCAT

In addition to taking the MCAT and scoring very well, I have served as a tutor in all three sections of the exam for over three years now. Both my undergraduate and graduate work have been in the sciences, therefore I have a very strong grasp of the fundamentals necessary to excel on this exam. On occasion, I have served as a freelance tutor with Kaplan and other services to help administer their MCAT curriculum.

Organic Chemistry

Aside from having taken Organic Chem 1 and 2, with top marks at the University of Miami, I have also had 3 years experience in tutoring this subject. As a PhD Candidate in Marine Biology, I have a comprehensive understanding of the biological processes that underlie organic chemistry and how they function both within human and non-human systems. In my opinion, a formal education (both graduate and undergraduate) along with teaching experience qualify me to tutor students on this subject.
