I have had eight years' experience working with elementary grade students. I have a Masters degree in Varying Exceptionalities and certified in Exceptional Special Education (ESE K-12). I am also certified in Pre-K to Third grade and ESOL. I am currently employed as a PreK/HeadStart Educator at a local elementary school. I also have worked as an Preschool ESE Educator at Walker Elementary School and an ESE Educator for the Behavior Change (K-5) Program at the Lanier James Education Center and with the (K-5) ESE group at Walker Elementary.
While working with students in the ESE programs, I have obtained training in Wilson Reading, Phonics for Reading, Moving with Math, Creative Curriculum Assessment and the Letter People programs. I also have training in the Pre-K literacy curriculum, Opening The World of Learning (OWL) and the Houghton Pre-K math and science curriculum.
For tutoring methods, I utilize hands-on activities, flash cards, manipulatives, maps/diagrams, technology (computers, CD's & DVDs), and traditional methods such as workbooks and worksheets.
