Hello, I want to thank you in advance for looking at my profile. I want to start off by telling you a little about myself. I graduated from high school in 2010. I was cum laude with a 3.5 GPA. Soon after graduating I attended Miami Dade College for an Associates Arts degree in physical therapy. During my time there I took a couple of English classes, which I received an A and B in. I also took a few psychology classes that dealt with children growth development. Currently I'm a transfer student at Florida International University where I will be continuing my road to becoming a physical therapist.
I have tutored young children in grade school. I love working and helping children learn how to read or even build their vocabulary. Through my experience with working with children, I learned you have to be patient and make learning fun. Children are more willingly to learn when you give them an incentive or praise them for doing well.
I like to start off with fun activities to keep children willingly and eager to learn. Such fun activities could be reading an interesting book then draw pictures of what was his or her favorite part. Another activity could be having the child make their own dictionary of new words he/she learned and cutting pictures from magazines that defines the word. Children are more likely to retain what they learned if it's visual. These are just a few things I do to help make learning fun for children.
Thank you again for taking the time out and reading my free response. I hope I'm the right fit for your child.
