I have been a high school science teacher for the past 6 years and have taught Earth/Space Science (Honors and Regular), Biology (Honors and Regular), as well as Physical/Integrated Science. I have a Bachelor's in Biology as well as minors in Chemistry and Business Administration from FIU. I then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Biomedical Science from Barry University.
During my last two years at FIU, I worked as a science and math tutor at MDC's Kendall campus where I helped students in classes ranging from intermediate algebra to college algebra and pre-calculus as well as introductory chemistry and biology courses all the way up to microbiology and organic chemistry. It was during graduate school that I started teaching and found a passion for it because I enjoy dispersing knowledge to people regardless of their abilities.
Besides teaching science at the high school level, I have been tutoring students of all ages in math and science (elementary all the way up to college). I can also assist in helping students pass private school entrance exams as well as in practicing the subjects tested in the state exams such as the FCAT math and end-of course exams in algebra 1, geometry, and of course biology.
In addition to tutoring core subjects in school, I also have experience in tutoring the Math section of the SAT and the math and science sections of the ACT as well as helping those individuals interested in obtaining their GED.
