I'm currently attending Florida International University where I am obtaining a degree in Geoscience, Meteorology. My hours are flexible; I can work with your schedule. I'm very patient and I have a great work ethic. I’ve been tutoring for about a year in Algebra and Pre-Calculus, I'm also well versed in Pre-Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus I & II and Physics with Calculus I.

When I was in Middle School & High School, I had a hard time with Math and English, so I know how difficult and frustrating it is to learn and understand the concepts of Math, but after a long hiatus with the Military I came back to school and gave it a whole different approach. I believe it gave me clarity on how to learn all subjects and I want to help others out that have the same issues that I had because I know what it’s like not have the understanding you need to succeed in these subjects.

Studies show that most students lose about two months of grade level equivalency in mathematical computation skills over the summer months and should be stimulated with these subjects, especially if you already have difficulty while in school. I have text books in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and trigonometry, so I can keep your mind always thinking!

In Mathematics, everything is cumulative from the very basics all the way up to Calculus III. What I try to do when tutoring is to show you how to (prove) or (solve) each problem from the beginning. In doing this I teach you the steps you need to know to solve these problem(s). Everyone learns at his or her own pace, some people take more time than others, in solving the problem(s) and this may seem tedious at first, but it gives you a better understanding on how to solve the problems on your own and understand the concepts completely. I make sure you completely understand the concepts and I promise you, you will know how to solve these problems on your own after I tutor you. You have my word!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

Even thought I'm enrolled in Differential Equations, algebra has always been my favorite subject in math. I love that it is the building block to all math, and I find it the easiest to teach because it is the one I enjoy most.

Algebra 2

Even thought I'm enrolled in Differential Equations, algebra has always been my favorite subject in math. I love that it is the building block to all math, and I find it the easiest to teach because it is the one I enjoy most.

Calculus

Algebra is the most fundamental aspect of math; calculus, derived from algebra, can be the most useful. Whether you are trying to find the mass of an object or the speed and velocity, calculus will help you get there. Now, the issue where most people lie is doing the algebra. Calculus is usually a small part of an equation and the rest is algebra. I can help give you the intuition so that when you come up against a problem that looks difficult and you take it down step by step you will be able to solve it very easily.
