My name is Bryan, and following is more information about me as a tutor.
A little about me: I believe that being a good student is an important perquisite to being a tutor, and is an indicator of their ability to tutor, provided they have an adequate ability to communicate. I am currently a Miami Dade College student at Wolfson campus, with a concentration in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) courses prior to transferring to the University of Florida. My current GPA as of Fall 2012 term was 4.0, which speaks to my proficiency in the science and math courses I have taken there thus far. Prior to MDC, I had a heavy coursework load in high school in AP and AICE courses. I am an AP Scholar, due to the number of tests I have passed, and graduated at the top 15% of my class. My SAT and ACT scores were, at the time, 1880 and 29 respectively. I have picked up a myriad of skills and have proven to be an adequate teacher, student, and leader in many projects and clubs and community service projects since.
About me as a tutor: I have only recently taken from tutoring in groups of classmates to tutoring as a side-income outside of MDC. However, I believe myself to be a capable tutor, and in multiple subjects. I tutor every subject and everyone differently according to needs and learning methods, as no two subjects or people are always taught the same way. I only teach subjects I feel I know enough about to be comfortable charging anything for. I prefer shorter concentrated sessions in the afternoons, preferably at a library, so as to fit my access VIA transit and busy school schedule, but can make arrangements and exceptions. Weekends and weekdays after Wednesday tend to be better for me. I request to know what is expected of me for each new student (as in, what is the goal?) and basically wish to plan with the student ahead of time what each session will require in terms of subject and materials. I speak Spanish and English fluently, but note I do not teach Spanish. Cancellation at no charge must be done 4 hours in advance, or half the session fee will be charged. This window allows enough time for cancellation even in light of an emergency. My rate is set in order to grant me a $25/hr rate after WyzAnt fees.
Note: I am also CSWP SolidWorks certified and have exposure to MasterCAM.
If you have any further questions, doubts, etc. feel free to communicate with me in order to clarify anything.
I have 3.5 years experience with SolidWorks. I am a certified CSWA and CWSP for SolidWorks. Have worked with MasterCAM software, AutoCAD software, and other CAD/CAM software. I completed a senior capstone project in Solidworks. I know how to run sustainability analysis. I can run FEA (Finite Element Analysis). I have worked on multiple projects in SolidWorks, including complex robotic assemblies and multi-assembly analysis.
Very patient and smart. — Great tutor really helpful and nice when it comes to dumb questions. Easy to communicate with at all time and very flexible. Fully recommended. ...
