I have tutored a college student for College Algebra and a high school student for Statistics and SAT Math. During high school, I used to tutor Physics on my spare time, but now I decided to use my time wisely. I've been told that I am a good tutor, very reliable, prompt, funny yet compassionate about the student's success.

I'm very patient while tutoring, so that the student can fully understand the material. I assign and check homework. My method is to ask in what area the student needs help, see how the student approaches the problem, then provide feedback/input. I like being asked questions, as it helps to make tutoring a wonderful experience.

I prefer to tutor in a library or a cafe (i.e. Starbucks); but I don't mind making accommodations. Commuting is easy for me. Last but not least, I can speak Spanish.

Algebra 1

I took Algebra 1 in 8th grade. It was easy and useful in Algebra 2. This is one of the many subjects that I can confidently tutor.

Algebra 2

I took Algebra 2 as an honors class in 10th grade. I think this was my favorite math class, because it was a good challenge. Also, I helped out a lot of my classmates that had difficulties in this subject.

Calculus

In 11th grade, I took AP Calculus and Honors Precalculus, because my teacher thought I could do it. Precalculus was a breeze, but it did help when I took my AP Calculus exam. Those double angle formulas come in handy. I got a 5 on AP Calc AB exam and a 4 on AP Calc BC exam.

Chemistry

In high school I passed the AP chemistry exam. I'm very good at conversions, balancing equations, solubility and so on. I took chemistry 1045 and 1046 for the easy grade, so it's still fresh.

Physics

In my sophomore year of high school, I enrolled in Honors Physics. It was very new to me, but after trying my hardest, I passed with an A. The next year, I took AP Physics B and got a 4 on my AP test. In my senior year, I took AP Physics C, and passed the Mechanics exam with a 5 and the Electricity & Magnetism exam with a 4.

Prealgebra

I don't think I needed to take this class, but I believe it is a very good start into Algebra. I can tutor this subject without a problem. Math is my strong subject.

Precalculus

In high school, I took Precalculus and AP Calculus at the same time. This was doable and is probably now more common in my high school. I saw the different approaches to the same problem, which excited me.

Trigonometry

I didn't need to take Trigonometry, because my math teacher didn't think it was necessary. I feel confident in tutoring this subject. Memorizing the trig identities makes this subject easier.

Japanese

I have taken 3 semesters of Japanese at Florida International University. My professors can say my Japanese is great. I am currently self-studying for the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test). I love grammar; and Japanese music helps improve my listening comprehension. I read Japanese people's tweets/blogs and facebook posts as a hobby.

SAT Math

My SAT Math score was high, but I don't remember the actual number. I also tutored in SAT Math. The student's score did improve. I still remember the strategies that I was taught in SAT Prep class.
