Credentialed Teacher with Master's Degree

I am a fully credentialed classroom teacher, licensed to teach kindergarten through sixth grade and introductory Spanish. I am also endorsed to work with ESOL students (English Speakers of Other Languages). In the past ten years I have been studying and practicing education, working in classrooms as a substitute, paraprofessional, classroom teacher.

Recently completing my Master’s Degree in Education, I am eager to continue my work with students and apply this new knowledge. Hard working and highly motivated, I feel confident that I will be able to foster your child's academic development.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am certificated to teach K-6 in Florida. I have completed two full years of classroom teaching as well as three years of subbing K-6 in all subjects. I ran Homework Club for two years, which required me to work with a large group of elementary students 5 days per week in all subjects. I have also tutored students in all subjects K-10.

Phonics

Phonics refers to some of the foundational principals of learning to read and write. Specifically, phonics relates to the letters and letter combinations and the sounds they represent. I have had two years of teaching my own first grade classroom and have a masters degree in reading and literacy, both of which have given me an great understanding of phonics principles and how to teach them to emerging and struggling readers.

Study Skills

Study skills refers to habits and techniques a students learn and apply habitually. Such habits refer to things such as time management and scheduling time to study and complete tasks.
