I have had many years of experience tutoring, especially focusing on admissions test preparation (SAT, ACT, SAT II Subject tests). I graduated from Brown University with a degree in Human Biology, and am currently finishing medical school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. I began individualized tutoring 9 years ago, and have tutored in many subjects both with tutoring agencies as well as privately. My particular focus is on test prep tutoring, from which my students have achieved exemplary results from the curricula I have used. Having graduated from one of the nation's top undergraduate universities and having experience in the interview process for Brown, I am familiar with what it takes to get in to competitive schools and I work with students to help them achieve their goals. I have also had substantial experience teaching Math, Spanish, and Biology. I have worked as a teaching assistant for calculus in addition to individual tutoring in many levels of math; I have tutored extensively in Spanish (though it is not my native language) after achieving many awards and top scores in my coursework, in addition to spending substantial time living in both Spain and Mexico; I have also tutored extensively in biology, which is the area in which I have the most experience in upper level coursework. I always try to push my students to achieve their goals, generally using curricula and easy to remember study skills techniques that I have worked on, while at the same time tailoring the tutoring sessions to each student. Group sessions are also available for test preparation (max 4 students, groups must come pre-formed).
