Experienced French, Spanish, & English Tutor--Former Teacher

I am bilingual in Spanish and English and have a near-native fluency in French. I received a B.A. in French and Linguistics from the University of Florida with an English minor, during which time I studied abroad in France for a full semester. I have spent the last four months as an Upper School French teacher in an independent school in North Carolina, teaching French I-V to high school students of all grade levels. I have also been a teaching intern with Breakthrough Miami, teaching English at the middle school level. I will be attending Indiana University's graduate program in French Linguistics in the Fall. Languages and teaching them are my passion and I would love to pass on my experience and expertise to your child!

French

I began studying French in high school, and continued my studies intensively in college as one of my majors. Reading

I am widely-read in English, and received a 160 (out of 170) on the verbal portion of the GRE, the last test I took which measured my reading competency.

Spanish

I was raised bilingual, speaking Spanish alongside English at home. I further improved my Spanish through formal classes in elementary, middle, and high school, and an upper-level Spanish literature course in college. I am familiar with both the AP Spanish Language and Literature exams, and received a 5 on both.

Writing

I am a native English speaker and hold an English minor as part of my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida. I am familiar with FCAT, AP and IB writing assessments. I have written critical and analytical essays for college of up to 5,000 words.

I received an English minor from the University of Florida. In high school I received a 5 on both the AP English Language and AP English Literature exams, and a 7 (the highest score possible) on my International Baccalaureate (IB) English exam.

Literature

I graduated with an English minor from the University of Florida, and in high school received top scores on both A.P. and I.B. English literature exams. I am very widely-read and knowledgeable, and write fiction in my spare time. I have also had experience as a classroom teacher at both the middle and high school levels.
