I have 3 years of tutoring experience, plus an additional 4 years of editing experience, including experience tutoring international students who were just learning English, tutoring students in speech and helping to create resumes and cover letters.

Having worked at both Michigan Tech's Writing Center and MDC Kendall Campus's Writing Center as a tutor, I found I derived a deep sense of satisfaction from developing and fostering writing skills in students. Watching students mature as writers and guiding them in that process is rewarding and fun so I have continued to tutor privately.

I like to keep students completely engaged in the tutoring process when working in person so I frequently have students read their own work aloud so that they develop a keen ear for their own voice and for the mistakes they typically make. I am a fan of representing grammatical concepts through visual means and have created many different aids to help students visualize comma use, sentence structure, etc.

How do I receive a discount?

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
