Hello people sitting at your computer (or on your phone) looking for a tutor. My name is David and I'd love to help you have a better grasp on literature and the art of writing effective essays. I'm currently finishing up my Bachelor's at FIU in English Literature and have plans to move onto graduate school where I'll strive for a Ph.D and become a professor of the subject.

I've worked as a freelance tutor here and there, but more recently got accepted as a writing fellow at the FIU campus. This wonderful program sets tutors inside college classes and works with the students over time to perfect their writing habits (as well as foster a help-seeking mindset, essential in today's world).

I love English literature, and I love writing. This love brings an enthusiasm to my tutoring sessions where my main goal is to establish writing and reading habits that will be useful forever. Reading

Reading is all about paying attention and knowing which key phrases are important to the passage. I can help create reading habits that will help my students see a passage, read a passage, and conquer that passage.

Literature

Literature is my passion and reason for being in school. I'm well versed in the classics as well as strategies of analysis and can promise to bring my enthusiasm into a promising tutoring session.

Proofreading

Proofreading is what I do as a tutor at my college and as the resident English Major among my peers. I can proofread for grammar, style, and content, and teach others how to aquire proofreading habits as well.

SAT Reading

SAT reading can be complex and difficult, but with a little strategy and useful habits, it can be a breeze.

Poker

I was a regular poker dealer at bar companies and regional tournaments for 6 years. While I'm not licensed, I've been steeped in the poker culture for 8 years and play regularly. I have a working knowledge of the rules of the game as well as an extensive practical knowledge in strategy. I know I'm highly qualified to teach the sport.
