Hello Everyone! My name is Dr. Terri and I LOVE teaching! I have been teaching in one form or another since I was 16 years old. I am an accomplished musician, currently working and performing in the South Florida area, but I have also taught elementary school, 1st through 6th grade, in English and Spanish! I school my own children at home, so I have LOTS of experience working with kids. I have also tutored children with disabilities, helping them to improve their skills for the classroom. I also teach music, flute and piano. I teach classical and jazz flute, as well as improvisation. I have taught outside of the U.S. as well, working in Brazil with a Fulbright scholarship, to teach about American music at a University there. I currently teach a jazz band at a local college, and I coach all types of instrumentalists in learning how to improvise. My students range in age from 4 to retirees, and I gear the lessons to the students needs and abilities. I enjoy working one on one with students to help them achieve their goals. Elementary Math

I taught school in California (grades 1 - 6). I also currently school my own children at home utilizing Florida Virtual Academy. I have worked with children at all levels of accomplishment and enjoy teaching very much!

Elementary (K-6th)

I taught elementary school in the Los Angeles Unified School district for 10 years. I taught bilingual education, all subjects in English and Spanish, grades 1-6. During that time, I completed the coursework for receiving my K-12 Bilingual California State Teachers Credential at California State University Los Angeles.

Phonics

I taught Elementary school for 10 years and also have homeschooled my own children, beginning their reading programs with a phonics-based program.

Piano

I have been teaching piano in the South Florida area for 2 years. I am most comfortable with younger and beginning students.

Study Skills

I work with my own children constantly on study skills. I also have completed a doctorate myself and this has trained me for helping others prioritize what they need to do to be successful in the academic world. I have taught continuously, all age levels for the last 30 years.

Flute

I have a Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral Degree (DMA) in Flute Performance. I currently play principal flute in the ARs Flores Symphony and work as a free-lance musician in the South Florida area. I teach private flute lessons in the South Florida area.
