My name is Jamal, I am a full time employee in a local bank in Warwick RI where I started my new position on October first 2012 after I graduated from Johnson & Wales University last spring by successfully getting an MBA in Global Business
Leadership with a concentration in Financial Management. Furthermore I got a Master's in Corporate Finance
from Institut d Administration des Entreprises Jean Moulin University in Lyon France on June 2008 which enabled me to enhance my technical and leadership skills in accounting
, financial reporting and control, portfolio management and definitely develop my communication skills depending on the audience and the specific segment I intend to target.
On a separate note, I am a native French
speaker, both languages where I had many opportunities to consolidate my writing
and speaking abilities through master thesis, speeches, presentations during 17 years of studies within the French and Moroccan educational system. Moreover, I have permanently shown my passion and enthusiasm for tutoring since I was in high school where I developed a natural way to tutor groups of classmates that needed additional support in order to get better grades. My way as a successful tutor actually focuses on making student enthusiastic and excited about the subject I am teaching either French, Arabic, accounting or finance which is the most adequate technique for students to have good grades and naturally pass the class.
I had a very interesting experience as a mentor at Mary E Fogarty Elementary school and also Veazie Street Elementary school where I had to prepare a lesson every trimester focusing on different topics regarding my country of origin. As a tutor, I always start a short discussion with my students to make them overcome any sort of hurdles linked to communication issues. Furthermore, I have always been a tutor at Johnson & Wales University where I was very happy and pleased to help out my fellow classmates or friends constantly improving their level, getting more enthusiastic to significantly increase their performance and consequently getting better grades.
All in all, beyond the fact that I am a perfect French and Arabic speaker, I consider myself a very good listener and have attention into details, which are essential qualities when dealing with younger students or even with college students. I am very confident that my previous experience tutoring classmates, friends and kids in elementary schools over Rhodes Island will help me out to be a great tutor in the 4 subjects I have mentioned.
Together, we are going to build cultural bridges, and show a unique approach to deal with students, by continuously reminding them about time management
issues, and the goals we have set up together prior to starting the first lesson. Please don't hesitate to contact me for further information or any kind of inquiry.
