A competent, dependable, self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, competitively goal-oriented, enjoys being challenged, works well under pressure and relates well with people/students. I have had in excess of fifteen years lecturing/tutoring at several Universities in Jamaica W.I. Over that period I was commended every year for outstanding performance and voted the most effective tutor for six years in succession.
Recently, I was involved in Distance Education via Internet Streaming for three years. It was during this period that my skills were honed in facilitating learning. I am deeply committed to excellence and the imparting of demonstrable skills to students in an interactive highly participative manner. Ultimately students must develop competencies that reflect their learning and comfortableness with the subject/material. The value of teaching is to ensure that students' develop problem-solving skills and competencies that translate into effective living in the real world. I believe education is about building a collaborative environment of continuous learners whereby everyone can interact and realize their full potential.
I welcome every opportunity of working with students in this manner and all those whom I interact with will learn the values of discipline, hard-work and a creative approach to problem solving.
