The foundation of a bright future starts when a student first sets foot through a classroom door. From that point on, each year as a grade school student will bring them closer to the adult that they are going to be. Every child should be allowed to dream big dreams for their future. And, they should be afforded the opportunity to pursue that dream with all of their heart. This begins with good grades, and lots of motivation and encouragement. With the right support, any child's full potential can be reached. Every student has what it takes to succeed. Some just need a little extra push in the right direction.
Being a lifelong learner, I understand the importance of developing good study habits. I have a Master's Degree from a reputable university, and I have over one year of teaching experience at the college level. There, I learned the importance of adjusting teaching styles to suit the needs of those being taught. Are they a visual learner? We'll work with flash cards and demonstrations. Do they learn better by doing? I will make the lessons interactive. Patience and perseverance are key in helping students on the path to success. I take pride in my work ethic, as well as my professionalism. I strive to make the learning process engaging and fun!
While I have experience teaching courses at the career college level, I also have experience in tutoring elementary and middle school level students in subjects like math (elementary math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry) and English (spelling, grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension). I can also provide tutoring and guidance for all ages in Microsoft Office applications, Windows XP and 7, and general computer concepts.
