I come from a bilingual family (Italian, Slovenian) and since August 2012 I have been teaching Italian at the University of Miami.
Being a versatile educator, I have had the opportunity to instruct a wide variety of students (high school students, university students, and adults), from beginners to the business level.
I have always been a compassionate teacher, employing the use of Internet, educational software and different media in order to stimulate students’ interest in the language and culture. (I also created a website with a variety of entertaining interactive exercises.) Using these tools, which increase students' motivation, I easily address different learning styles and thus create a productive, stress-free learning environment. I do not force language output, but allow it to emerge spontaneously after students have been exposed to a great quantity of different language input.
My personal style of teaching is a blend of the elements of different approaches, such as suggestopedia, superlearning, total physical response, extensive reading and the lexical approach. I believe that different approaches keep the students motivated and stimulate their desire to learn.
I love my job and I love languages. I lived and studied in Germany for many years.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
