To me every child has the potential to be a STAR! I absolutely love children and am extremely patient and nurturing. In addition, I'm a very positive person and believe in positive reinforcement. As a child, I was given the best education available; a benefit I believe should be available to every child. I am currently a student at Florida International University studying psychology. I have worked with children in various settings for 10 years, from baby-sitting to assistant teaching. Vocabulary is a writer's best friend. Having a plethora of words at your disposal can only help make you a stronger and more descriptive writer and person.

Grammar

Being an excellent writer is so crucial in our present day, and grammar is writing's back-bone. Without proper grammar, a student's work will come across as amateur. Grammar can help give an a good essay the polish to make it appear great!

Reading

Reading is the doorway for all knowledge. It is imperative that student's have excellent reading skills in order to comprehend anything from a simple story, to a complex lesson. I have always been a voracious reader from a very young age. In fact, by second-grade I was already reading at a sixth-grade level. My love of reading continues and is a trait/ skill I would like to pass on to your child.

Spanish

While I am American born, I have been speaking Spanish since I was 2 years-old. I am completely fluent in Spanish, and because I learned at such a young age my accent is very minimal. Living in Miami, one cannot afford not to know Spanish!

Writing

For me, writing has always been my secret weapon I could divulge anytime I felt misunderstood or underestimated. Being a strong writer and having exceptional writing skills are crucial tools student's must have in their arsenal. Luckily great writers are not just born, they can be created. That's where I can help.

English

English was and continues to be my strongest scholastic subject. Throughout my High school and now college career, I have never personally scored any lower than an A- in an English subject.

Literature

Great literature is an art and a gift. I have been an avid reader since I was a child. My comprehension level is excellent, allowing me to easily locate important symbolism and motifs. In addition, I have read most classic literature studied in schools.

Theatre

I have studied theatre from a very young age. In fact, when I was younger, I had always planned on becoming an actor. I've studied at some of the best acting schools including Brown University's TheatreBridge program and Pace University's Actor's Studio. I was also an assistant teacher for several years to Dolphin Production's acting programs. In addition, I have also performed in numerous plays.

ADD/ADHD

As a person with ADHD, I have learned as well as cultivated several scholastic and life skills to deal. Due to my personal experience, I am more patient which allows me to keep my student calm as we repeat the lesson until he or she feels comfortable. In addition, I am comfortable teaching methods that have allowed me to cope before and after my diagnosis that may be new to the student.
