I spent 15 years teaching ESE students in Middle and High school in all subject areas and the last 3 years in assisting students in 11th and 12th grade in passing the FCAT Reading I spent 3 years in an Alternative School in Citrus County and 5 years in an Alternative School in Marion County. I enjoy helping students who are trying to reach their goal and try to push them to their highest level to succeed. This past year I taught middle school Language Arts at a small private school in Hialeah and will be returning in August. I enjoy the one on one contact of tutoring as it gives myself more time to that individual student to help prepare him/her to succeed.

As an ESE teacher for 15 years, I had many students who were ADD/ADHD. I had to break down their curriculum into smaller sections because they had difficulties concentrating and focusing for longer periods of time and were easily distracted. Instead of giving them 10 words to study and learn for a spelling test, I gave them 5-7 and the same with Math. Instead of giving them 20 problems to complete for a daily lesson, I would give them 10. I found out that they didn't get as frustrated and it helped my classroom management as well.

I have an extensive background and experience from Little League through college baseball. I managed and coach high school baseball on the high school level for 17 years, college for 5 years plus 3 years in Little League baseball.

I played basketball in junior high school as well as intramural basketball while in college at the University of Arizona. I took a class in college on the theory of coaching basketball as well and have coached a few teams at the boys and girls club.

I have taught English at both the middle school and high school levels. I have taught mainstream English as well as Special Education English.

I have taught both English and Reading and grammar plays an important part in being successful in English. Knowing the correct grammar and different aspects of it can help you better understand what you are writing and reading as well.

I have taught ESE English and Reading for 15 years and Phonics played an integral part of the curriculum which I taught.

Social Studies

As a ESE self-contained teacher for 9 of my 15 years, I had to teach Social Studies in middle school as one of the subjects. I enjoyed giving students different hands on projects to do and to see the creativeness that my students showed, the hard work they put into the projects and the results at the end of them.

I have an extensive baseball background but also coached various girl's Little League softball as well. I was fortunate to manage 2 all-star teams also.
