Hi, my name is Alex and I just graduated form the University of Miami with a degree in Psychology. I now work at the University during the day, and have plenty of free time to tutor nights and weekends. Having tutored middle and high school students for a number of years, I have learned what methods work the best. My skills include: perfecting study skills, organization skills, and writing scientific and literary papers. I have the patience and determination to work through any problem, and answer any question. Although learning a difficult subject may not always be fun, I try to make the material as interactive as possible. To sum up my personality: I am a pretty easy going person who really enjoys working with others in an academic setting.

My past experiences include tutoring middle school students in math, reading, and writing. It is very important to acquire a strong foundation in these skills at a young age for future success. I have tutored high school students in proper study skills and preparation for applying to college. I have also tutored college students in psychology and sociology. Elementary (K-6th)

I tutored a number of children in elementary school focusing on math and reading. A strong foundation in reading and writing is of high importance during this time in order to excel later in these subjects. Much care and time must be given to ensure future success. I have a degree in psychology.

Study Skills

I just graduated form the University of Miami with a degree in psychology. The root of many academic problems students have stem from a lack of proper study skills. These skills are necessary for all subjects and, once mastered, can open many doors. I have the determination and patience to go through the problem areas and work through better study habits.

Sociology

I minored in Sociology while at UM and have taken a number of classes that span the wide field of sociology. I have covered the basic principles, criminology, social psychology, medical sociology, deviance, and sexuality. I have researched and written a number of papers that has given me a deeper understanding. Focusing on each concept and theory in depth has helped those I have tutored in this subject.
