Hi! I'm willing to help with college/University essays in my areas of expertise: World Art History, History of Design, History of Architecture, and History of Photography and Literature.

I also have great experience helping kids with homework, reading, writing, and vocabulary acquisition. I have a Joseph Silny validated licentiate Degree (Post bachelor) in Art History and a Master of Arts in Spanish from FIU (Florida International University) with a lot of writing experience in Spanish. I am also a certified Art Restorer and Conservator. Experienced in Archeological Ceramics, Mural Painting, Paper and diverse Traditional and non Traditional Painting and Art techniques.

I have taken several courses in Pedagogy and Teaching Methodology, ESOL, and Second Language Acquisition. I can help with Reading, Writing and Conversation at all levels.

I specialized in teaching kids and adults to read and write both in English and Spanish. I have extensive experience in that area and also in teaching them art techniques.

Art History

I am a certified Professor of Art History and a Licenciate in Art History. I have taught Art at Elementary, Middle, High School and College level.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have been an Elementary substitute for several years for MDCPS.

I have been an ESOL and a Citizenship Teacher for DCPS. Teaching Citizenship exposed me to people from all over the world, specially Latin America. I have experience as an ESOL teacher at the Elementary, Middle, High School and College levels. I also dictated Several Art History courses, both in English and Spanish for international students.

I had an art workshop for kids and adults for several years teaching diverse Art techniques; painting, ceramics, collage and Art history, reproducing famous masterpieces of Picasso, Matisse, Van Gogh, Cezanne, prehistory and American precolonial drawings. I also have great experience "hands on" restoring Argentinian and Latin American masters in general.

I just took three Linguistic courses while doing my Spanish Master degree at Florida International University. One of them was almost exclusively related to Phonics. As a foreign Hispanic mother in the United States, I was always helping my kids with their phonic concerns and necessities.

I am a Spanish native speaker with a Master of Arts in Spanish specialized in Hispanoamerican Literature. I am dedicated both to teach Spanish as a second language and Heritage Spanish.

Study Skills

Teaching Organization habits and time management: From wise use of spare time and finding the right time and place to do homework, to assignment, projects, meetings and practice record, priority lists and adequate sleeping hours. Once the learning atmosphere is accomplished and skills acquired, the student will learn to ask him/herself questions to understand the meaning of the readings finding topics and main ideas. We will work on class readiness and test preparation strategies, by creating a system of note-taking, graphic organizers, pictures and note revising. I will gladly accommodate to the academic needs of the student as he or she progresses.
