Understanding the messages in the the Bible and their importance in our daily lives requires patience. I was raised Roman Catholic but consider myself non-denominational. I attend church every Sunday at even when I travel, and I have studied the Bible for years as well as finding guidence in it pages. I have attended many religous retreats including a medical mission to Guatemala in 2007.

As a visual artist and photographer who continues to learn and grow by using and combining and embracing new media, my approach is to use drawing as a way to improve communication skills. Drawing is the single most accessible form of art available. All you need to start is a pencil or pen and a sheet of paper.
Drawing provides the foundation for other creative activities - like painting, sculpture photography and printmaking. Like music it also provides a direct link with reading, writing and especially mathematics. I have a BA in Communication Arts and Photography, with a foundation in Fine Arts and Photojournalism.
Dyslexic students are highly visual. For dyslexic individuals, visual thinking and artistic expression can be absolutely critical to their academic success.
I am dedicated to helping students reach their maximum potential in ways that best meet their individual learning styles. I believe all students have the ability to learn. I've always loved learning new things. As a photojournalist and martial artist, I'm constantly learning, and trying new techniques.
Having struggled with dyslexia has given me the background and motivation to work with
parents and adults who deal with these issues everyday of their lives.
I am experienced in teaching children how to study and be efficient at how to study and get the material, based on how questions are asked and material expected. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Arts from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. The subjects I have the most fun are: reading, writing, mathematics, phonics, grammar, and social studies -- particularly history and geography.
My goal is to help students achieve academic excellence. It is important that in tutoring one helps the student progress at their own level.
As a working media professional for over 30 years I created a Film and Media Arts class where students will learn about the history of movies, music, television, and the internet. Students will also learn skills that will help them master the writing and reading standards.
Today's school students are bombarded with messages, both good and bad. Now more than ever, they need the tools to help them make sense of all the information they are seeing and hearing.
I began my martial arts training in Judo at the age of 12. When I was 14 I studied Shotokan Karate with sensei Saito at JKA of Miami. Always looking to broaden my martial art knowledge have begun studying some hapkido to apply the techniques to my tae kwon do. With the basic premise of that in a fight there are no rules. So incorporating techniques to remove a threat as quickly as possible through the seizing the initiative and using a free-flowing variety of kicks, punches, throws, joint breaks, and pressure points to exploit an adversary's natural reactions.
I have a degree in Communication Arts and as a elementary student I was diagnosed with dyslexia and struggled with school especially with reading and phonics. I went to a tutor twice a week and was given one on one instruction.
