Competent, experienced Elementary and English/Writing Tutor

I am an experienced elementary teacher and English/Writing instructor who really enjoys helping students of all ages to learn. I have over thirty years combined experience in teaching and tutoring all the basic elementary subjects as well as teaching English, writing and SAT writing/reading prep classes to older students. Also,I am a Florida certified teacher.

I have taught home-school students and have also taught in public and private Christian schools. I believe in hands on tutoring which means the student and I will interact and do oral skills, and write out pertinent facts/skills together when it is relevant. Visuals, auditory methods (songs etc.) and kinesthetic approaches are incorporated in my sessions with many of my students.

Teaching students (elementary through college) to write well is one of my life's goals. Since "Practice makes perfect" is one of my favorite sayings, I give my students ample practice time. I also try to find out what the student and his/her parents and teachers want him/her to learn and master.

I have taught writing skills to students in elementary school through high school. I taught creative writing , SAT Writing Prep classes, ninth grade English, Journalism and many individual tutoring and small writing class sessions over the past ten years. My work with home school, private school and public school students was very enjoyable.
