I am an MDCPS teacher and I have experience in teaching phonics. I was a Pre-Kindergarten teacher for 10 years for HeadStart and a Kindergarten teacher for Miami Dade County Public Schools where teaching phonics was part of the curriculum. In teaching phonics, it includes teaching letter and sound recognition, phonemic awareness, decoding, blending, and syllable relationships.
