Elementary (K-6th)

Yes, I have considerable experience teaching K-6th for Miami Dade County Public Schools. I have worked with the gifted children in the Kinder and Elementary magnet schools of Miami Dade County. I am also quite experienced with the Education Transformation Office-No Child Left Behind Federal Initiative guidelines and direction for children who are in socially/economically challenged areas of the Miami Date County areas. I have also taught children privately who come from different countries and need to have temporary homeschooling. Knowledge of Common Core Standards, innovative varied activities are vital to achieving a significant compatible academic and emotional transition. I continually attend courses sponsored by the State of Florida, Department of Education. My experience is current and focused on significant testing gains. I have been a teacher for approximately 28 years.

ESL/ESOL

I am energetic, patient and upbeat. I not only am an expert at helping you get over your battles with passing but I also have a great deal of contacts to bring the real professional/educational world into yours. Knowledge of the culture, basic survival and workplace are extremely important to learning English as a Second Language.

I have extensive experience {25 yrs+} in understanding the needs of vocational, university, executive and technical student needs.

I also have at my finger tips experience with websites and many textbooks that will break down the complicated steps needed in learning English.

My students have a very high passing score in the key tests for English as a Second Language.

TOEFL, TSE, TWE, CPT, CLAST, ACT, SAT and EPT
I offer knowledge, experience and true dedication.

Study Skills

I taught Student Life skills at Miami Dade College at the Wolfson Campus for ten years.

As a Life Skills teacher, I introduced, explained, motivated and engaged students in effective strategies that increased learning effectiveness to improve their low Grade Point Average. Effective listening skills, interactive note taking, proven reading/writing strategies, productive decision making and conflict resolution were some of the essential topics studied and tested for successful course completion mandated by the state of Florida.
