I am an experienced, creative, flexible, reliable, and student-oriented teacher. I believe learning should be fun and tailored to the students' needs. I graduated as a Spanish/English Translator and Interpreter from the University of Havana in 1983. Two years later, I started teaching ESL to engineering students in the eastern part of Cuba. Three years later, I started teaching ESL to medical students in Las Tunas province, Cuba. After teaching there for three years and taking 150 hours of training in methodologies for teaching ESL, I went to Santa Lucia Beach, Cuba to teach ESL to workers of the tourist industry.
In 2003 I started teaching ESOL at Miami-Dade College, the largest community college in the U.S., where I have continued working until now. I have been teaching speech, writing, grammar, intensive English and conversation courses.
In 2011 I started teaching English and Spanish to international students at the Open Heart International College in Miami. I have also been teaching ESOL through Skype to my own private students for two years.
