I focus on one-on-one tutoring for all levels that empowers students to think for themselves and succeed. I am dedicated to helping my students gain confidence in comfortable, fun, and encouraging sessions that produce results.
Nine years of tutoring experience, including work with schools in Florida, and abroad in Mexico and Nepal, has nurtured my skills to understand all types of students and work with them to grasp concepts in stimulating and effective ways. I am a published researcher and earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Yale. I also speak Spanish and English natively.
I currently teach elementary through high school students in ESL, English, Writing, Math, and Science, often preparing students for SAT and ACT college entrance exams and sharpening and editing college admissions essays. I enjoy watching my students grow and flourish.
Whether you want to work on a problem area, build skills, obtain your top score, or earn college acceptance, I start by evaluating you to identify precisely which areas you need to improve. Together, we define goals we can measure and track overtime. I use drills, ask questions, and use relevant and interesting materials. And, at the end of every session, I submit a lesson summary for you to review, compare notes, and monitor your progress.
During my lessons you will notice that I am patient, friendly, and attentive. I teach with a good attitude and challenge you to be your best, always mindful of your comfort levels. My natural curiosity to learn is contagious and as a tutor and mentor I care to engage you in a way that is right for you and to see you improve.
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
