My name is Amanda C. Born in Paris and raised by an Italian mother, I spent my childhood back and forth between the City of Lights and Tuscany. From a very early age, I learned the most delightful aspects of these two attractive cultures. My love for a good baguette, strolling through the Parisian streets, cooking a ragù for hours, hunting for truffles and cobble-stone streets knows no bounds.
Thanks to my upbringing, I was fortunate enough to learn how to speak, read and write French and Italian simultaneously. English came next when my family moved to New York and I was sent to Middlebury College to earn a degree in Art History. I am now living in Miami Beach with my two children and travel back to Europe as much as possible.
My greatest desire is to transmit not just the knowledge and love of the languages but also everything else that comes with it. My approach to tutoring is instructive but also geared towards understanding the fiber of the culture and its idiosyncrasies. I believe that in today's world, learning a new language is not enough. It is also important to learn about the current events, trends, politics, humor, fashion, geography, art, etc...It truly makes for a better and deeper experience, not to mention much more entertaining.
