I am a Harvard University graduate in Linguistics with several years of experience in teaching ESL as well as the background in learning foreign languages. In the past I was an ESL tutor at the Newton Public Library, and after my move to Miami I have been teaching at the local language school, as well as tutoring private clients.
My broad interests (literature, foreign and American cultures, art, film, sports, theater, food/nutrition, international politics etc.) make me a qualified and an interesting ESL instructor, good conversation partner, and a knowledgeable guide to the American culture and Miami area.
I enjoy helping others improve their English language proficiency, when I can get to know my students and their personal and professional needs in respect to their encounters with the American culture and the American English language.
I am always fascinated with students’ backgrounds and their interests as well. This knowledge helps me prepare the engaging daily lessons with practical (academic, cultural, culinary, travel, fitness etc.) ideas. These ideas make great topics for conversations in English, make it more interesting to learn English grammar, broaden student’s intellectual horizons, as well as provide the helping hand in organizing time in the city and the country they might not know very well.
